Product Description
Ferric vanadium
Ferric vanadium is an iron alloy, obtained by reducing vanadium pentoxide with carbon in an electric furnace, or by reducing vanadium pentoxide in an electric furnace by silicothermic process. It is widely used as an element additive for smelting vanadium alloy steel and alloy cast iron, and is also used to make permanent magnets. Iron vanadium produced in China has V401, V402 and other varieties, containing about 40% vanadium.
An iron alloy used in the steel industry. Its main components are vanadium and iron, but also contain sulfur, phosphorus, silicon, aluminum and other impurities. According to the content of vanadium, there are three kinds of iron vanadium: FeV40 (V35.0% ~ 50.0%, Si<2.0%, Al<4.0%, C<0.30%, P<0.10%, S<0.10%); FeV60 (V50.0% ~ 65.0%, Si<2.0%, Al<2.5%, C<0.30%, P<0.06%, S < 0.05%) and FeV80 (V75.0% ~ 85.0%, Si<2.0%, Al<1.5%, C<0.30%, P<0.06%, S<0.05%). In addition, there are also vanadium additives with trade names, such as Carvan vanadium (V82% ~ 87%, C10.5% ~ 14.5%), Nitrovan vanadium (V78% ~ 82%, C10% ~ 12%, N> 6.0%), Ferovan (V > 40%, Si5.5% ~ 7.0%, Nitrovan vanadium (V78% ~ 82%, C10% ~ 12%, N> 6.0%), Ferovan (V > 40%, SI5.5% ~ 7.0%, nitrovan vanadium), Carvan vanadium. Cr5.5% ~ 7.5%, Mn3.6% ~ 4.5%), etc., used as additives for smelting alloy steel and low alloy steel. Vanadium aluminum alloy is used in titanium alloy production, often called "VQ" VAl.

Application
Mainly used for smelting alloy steel. About 90% of the vanadium consumed in the world is used in the steel industry. Vanadium in common low alloy steel mainly refines grain, increases steel strength and inhibits its aging effect; In alloy structural steel, the grain is refined to increase the strength and toughness of the steel; Used in combination with chromium or manganese in spring steel to increase the elastic limit of steel and improve its quality; In the tool steel, it mainly refines the structure and grain of the steel, increases the tempering stability of the steel, enhances the secondary hardening effect, improves the wear resistance, and extends the service life of the tool; Vanadium also plays a beneficial role in heat-resistant and hydrogen-resistant steels; The vanadium added to the cast iron promotes the formation of pearlite due to the formation of carbide, makes the cementite stable, the shape of the graphite particles is fine and uniform, and the grain of the matrix is refined, thus improving the hardness, tensile strength and wear resistance of the casting.
